Another Retreat

August 26, 2008

I just got back from another writer’s retreat and I have to say, some of my best work is done in the company of a special writer friend. For some reason, the energy flows and we seem to help each other through the rough spots without any effort at all. One of my completed mss stalled around chapter 19 and I couldn’t figure out what to do with it. She asked me a few questions and BAM, just like lightning striking, we figured out the problem and how to fix it.

It took me three days to rewrite the scenes I needed to change and ‘voila’ – my ms is ready to go to the agent or editor who requests the full. With that weight off my shoulders, I have the freedom to create exciting new scenes for my WIP.

I feel like I’ve lost ten pounds and have the energy of a six year old. What an incredible way to recharge the batteries. Now, whenever I feel stuck, I’m going to pick up the phone and set up another fabulous retreat! Thanks Friend, you are the best!!

Call me if you get stuck or simply need to brainstorm. Until we are together again, write with passion. Hugs – Christine
