Let’s start with a bit of history and how I managed to make my dream come true. Passion and determination drive me, which explains why I climbed the corporate ladder while still in college and ventured into the world of endurance races. Those qualities also pushed me to walk away from a twenty-plus year career to follow my dream of becoming a published author. It was a long road, but like the miles in an Ironman race, I tackled the submissions and rejections one step at a time.
I signed with my agent in December of 2010 and she sold my first manuscript within six months. I feel Blessed, not only am I working my dream job, I’m married to my best friend, training partner, soul mate. We raised a handsome, successful son, gained a beautiful daughter-in-law, and welcomed our gorgeous granddaughter into this world. Family and friends continue to be my biggest supporters, they are the reason I write with emotion and enthusiasm.
I write stories about “heart” and hope they inspire readers to step out of their comfort zones and strive to reach their own goals.

That’s all I have booked so far!!!
It’s been a busy summer.
Sisters of Spirit is in the hands of the copy editor, and Passion’s Race is on the way to Galley form. It won’t be long before we have concrete release dates, so stay tuned! My platform is written, marketing ideas planned, and my focus has shifted to writing my newest story – Mike Dawson is a tough guy to work with, but we’re making progress. For now, I’m having fun plotting his adventure.
Some awesome news: in 2002, I took an online novel writing course with Writer’s Digest University. I stayed in touch with my professor and sent her a note about my contracts. She forwarded it to the Online Education Manager for the University and she asked if I’d like to be featured in the WDU alumni newsletter. Think I’d say no to that? Of course not, I’m in!
I just finished reading a few awesome books: The Next Always and The Last Boyfriend by Nora Roberts. Outstanding, but now I have to wait until November for book three?! Aya ya ya, it’s going to be a long wait. Also finished Cloaked in Malice by Annette Blair. It’s the fifth in the Cozy Mystery Series, and like the four before it, I couldn’t put it down. The story pulled me in and kept me turning the pages! No wonder it hit the NYT Bestseller List!!! (Congrats Annette, well deserved.)
What good books have you read recently?
Until next time – Hugs, Christine
Hi friends, it’s time once again for a quick update. I’m seriously feeling like an author!
Edits for Passion’s Race were turned in to my editor at the end of May, and I’m currently working on the edits for Identity, my novella for the anthology; Sisters of Spirit. Still no solid release date for either book, yet, but I have a strong feeling the anthology will debut this year, with Passion’s Race following within 3 months of that!
And ready for this – my editor wants me to write Mike’s story – He is Nick’s best friend. (Nick is the hero in Passion’s Race.) She said Mike is such a ladies man, he needs to fall hard! Ideas are already swirling … fun ways to torture the surfer-dude!
I’m heading to a writers retreat next week. Can’t wait to catch up with my friends and finish my novella edits before my July 3rd deadline. Then Passion’s Promise gets my full attention again. It’s going to be a busy, busy, summer, but that makes me very happy.
Wishing you a spectacular summer.
Hugs – Christine
