I just got back from my writers retreat and the weekend award ceremony. What a fantastic week.
First, working with my friend brings new energy to my work. We both got a lot accomplished and feel confident our WIP will be polished and ready for submission within two months! Huge progress. Thanks Lynn.
Second, Saturday night at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando Florida, I sat and proudly watched my husband and his design firm partner accept Retail Store of the Year for the boutique category. (Softlines under 5,000 sq ft.) Their design – the Via Spiga store in Soho. One of the stores they beat is Christian Lacroix in NY City. Wow. Impressive.
I’m sure I beamed as they walked up to the podium to accept their award. Hey, I’m my hubby’s biggest fan. Sue me. Not to mention, he was the best looking man in the room! The entire evening was grand from the reception to the final award, the atmoshpere spoke of elegance and extreme creative talent. I’m glad I got to attend to share this wonderful moment. Thanks honey.

Now, it’s back to work. Juggling about eight balls right now, but I’m energized and ready to make things happen. So, enjoy your day – until later. Hugs, Christine
Sadly, I brush sand from the bottom of my shoes. I just got back from my daily walk on the beach. The last one for a few weeks. We’re packing up the cats and heading back to St. Louis.
The wind whipped my cheeks, the water crashed on shore as hundreds of birds dove into the frigid water in hopes of catching dinner. Lines of pelicans sailed overhead floating on the breeze as fishing boats dotted the horizon. I bundled up and briskly walked a good four miles.
Florida had a freeze warning last night, seems appropriate to get me back in the chill of things, although I heard St. Louis temps were going to hit 60 this weekend. Not a bad trade.
And hey, I can’t be too sad, I’ll be back to host the Wine & Wave Writers Retreat in less than two weeks. I expect especially high productivity as I sit across the table from my favorite writer friend and type the hours away. Of course, we’ll plot and discuss as we take our daily walk on the private stretch of sand that is my back yard.
Then hubby is going to join me for the weekend. We’ll be attending an award ceremony in Orlando. His Via Spiga store in Soho won for Best Store Design of the Year. Woo hoo. I’m so proud of him and his team. They do incredible work. Don’t believe me? Check out www.viaspiga.com and www.francosarto.com – see for yourself!
Well, I best get packing. Until next time, Hugs. Christine
